Joni is having some trouble kicking this ear infection. After 4 trips to our paediatrician mom and Dr. Moore decided it was time for Joni to go see our ENT. So on Wednesday I took Joni to see Dr. Jenison. I put a lot of trust in him, he really has helped Anna out so I am trusting in what he tells me to do with Joni. The verdict we are on another round of antibiotics, Bactrim. She will take this for 30 days, that is unless she has a break though acute infection or if at the end of 30 days when we return to his office her ears are still "red". For now we play the waiting game and hope this works and we don't do tubes. He told me this is the old school approach, he is trying for 2 things...
1 to see if maybe this can kill that nasty in her ear
2 Get her out of the worst of winter before getting the tubes.
He wants to do this due to her age and RSV. He wants to put off tubes if we can, but he did tell me he does not think we will make it 30 days.
