Tucker

Anna and her cousin Tucker seem to love each other. They play very well together. Karen (Tuckers mom) says this is a surprise he's not much on sharing. They had a great time Sunday night while their daddy's were in Ky at the race track. Tucker has a cool playground set and Anna has been begging mommy to stop. Ok I thought it looked like fun and wanted to see my buddy so we stopped by. I used to baby sit Tucker when he was a little guy and I sure miss him. Anna and I are excited though his babysitter is moving in across the road. The great thing is his sitter is my cousin who has a boy just over 2 and a girl just 2 weeks older then Anna. Maybe we will get to see all of them more often. We even gave great grandma a yard sale mission of a swing for Caleb. All we have is the baby one. Hopefully they will be in soon Bob and Heather have been moving stuff out. Caleb just loves Josh so I'm sure he will be over a lot of nights helping Josh outside.

Is he cute or what?

Once again its a shoe thing. Does anyone know the cure for this addiction, before Anna wants to shop for shoes and daddy has to get a 2nd job b/c he can't tell her no.

Gardening with Dad

Anna and Josh have been doing some gardening. Josh was picking the green and yellow beans when Anna decided to help him. She is quite proud of our beans and the super huge onion check it out! I get my turn too, inside canning. Josh helps snap beans after Anna goes to bed and believe me he looks forward to it every night. You would think it was a hard job. Anna usually plays with those shoes while I fill the jars with beans the following day. I don't think Anna cares much for canning. It takes moms full attention away from her, this she is not used to. Our nights are usually filled with super and play time. This cuts out some play time together. So far this year we have almost 30 jars of beans, 10 applesauce and some of grandpa Jerry's favorite strawberry jam. Anna had her first of the applesauce with breakfast and she gave me a A+. Josh on the other hand likes the flavor but is not fond of the texture. More for me and Anna.

Other notables

  • Anna has been using the potty! On average 3 times at school and maybe 2 at home everyday this week! I know I have a lot of diapers before she is ready to be potty trained but I love this big girl potty thing. She gets gummies at school when she goes and loves them. At home we do M&M's.

  • Grandma Tammy and Grandpa Jerry are coming to visit this weekend!

  • Anna mastered her kangaroo climber. She can climb in every hole on the thing! Maybe I can get some pics sometime to share with everyone.

  • She saw her first Magic show at school last week.

  • Before going to school one day as we were getting ready to leave she said "kiss daddy"

I had to add this pic after my last post. Really folks the girl has a real shoe addiction

Got Shoes?

Over the past few weeks Anna has decided she loves shoes. Not only hers but any shoes she can find. Once she finds them its time to get them on. She works very hard to accomplish this task. Usually she falls a few times, yells a little, and tries to get help. We help sometimes but we let her figure it out on her own some too. Its quite fun to watch her. Once both shoes are on she starts walking with them. She can't walk in Josh's they are too heavy! Anna is quite proud to be wearing them and makes sure we see her. A few steps then she falls and starts all over. I have started to use this to my advantage. Many nights as I cook super Anna is somewhere in the kitchen putting on and taking off her own shoes. It takes much longer to get her own on. This gives me time to get super started. She even likes to where our socks, she will pick them up off the floor or out of the laundry and try to get them on her feet. She needs help getting on the socks, but walks much better in them. A few of her teachers at school have committed about her "shoe addiction" She tries to take off one of her teachers crocs. They also said she tries to help other kids get there shoes on. Sometimes she plays with the shoestrings on the kids feet. I'm not sure where this addiction came from, my best guess Uncle Sam. Yes ladies a male with more shoes then most of you! Here are a few times I was fast enough with the camera.

Can you help me tie these please?

Dad where are your chruch shoes?

Bye Bye Stinky!

No more stinky for Anna. For those of you wondering what stinky is that is what we called the pacifier. It got this name because Anna would sleep with it in her mouth all night long. In the morning wow it was stinky, so we starting telling her to give us that stinky thing and she would. So the name stinky just kinda stuck. Anna was well aware of what stinky meant. Last Friday I decided to try bed time without it, and it worked so easy. She did get it in the middle of the night that night but has not had it since! I am so glad its gone she was so attached, I was surprised at how easily she forgot about it. Anna growing up so fast!

Sweet Corn

We finally got to have some sweet corn. The field around our house is in corn this year, which means lots of sweet corn at my house! We have six rows clear around our house. For those of you who have been to our house you know that is a lot of sweet corn! We have been checking it every few days just waiting to watch Anna dig in. She had some trouble catching on. At first she wanted to take and bite the end off. After some help she got it. We have had sweet corn 3 times and last night she was a pro. She can eat a lot of corn off the cob. The butter might be her favorite part, who can blame the girl? She even helped me pick and husk the corn, OK she mostly chased the "kitttty" and caught them a time or two. She even tried to feed the kittty corn. I kept her out of the field but somehow she still had some of those little corn cuts when we went in.

Recently Anna added the word toe to her vocabulary. If you have ever heard her say "doooog", you can imagine "tooooe". For some reason she has the drawn out hillbilly o's and its so cute. She has been getting more and more words including Joey (a boy at daycare), yes and sometimes shoes and socks.

Stop and Smell the Flowers!

Anna had a very busy weekend and I got very luck to catch her smelling the flowers at great grandmas 75th birthday party! She walked over to the flowers and as you can see she took time to stop and smell! Well for Anna its less of a smell and more a blow. She gets the ideal and hears the sound I make when I say smell. So she does it to, or she thinks! Its very cute and she is quite proud of herself

How sweet is that?

INSPIRED

OK thanks to Leanne and some hints from Great Grandparents I'm giving this a try. I can't promise the great post Leanne shares (http://www.2-under-2.blogspot.com/) but at least you'll get to see some pics of Anna. Since Anna was sick and slept durning her birthday party and I have not taken many pics since, I will start with the yummy cake which she only picked at. Dad encouraged her to dig in. I waited for the big mess but it never came. This was great for mom, easy clean up. She is usually a neat eater and did not fail us. Check back later and I will try to come up with something more creative!

This is as messy as it got!
